AVEDA Distributor and Beauty Industry Leaders Organize Hurricane Relief Efforts

In response to the wide-spread devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Neill Corporation has announced the creation of the The Salon and Spa Relief Fund , a non-profit organization, set up to help salon and spa owners and their employees who have been affected by the hurricane. These funds will be used to help them rebuild their lives and their businesses. Edwin H. Neill III, president, and Debra Neill, CEO, of Neill Corporation, will head up the organization with other industry leaders.

Neill Corporation is one of the largest independent distributors of AVEDA products in the world and is located in Hammond, Louisiana (located less than 75 miles from the hard hit communities of New Orleans and Waveland, Mississippi.) Over 100 Neill employees were immediately impacted by the storm – some losing their homes. Neill has spent the last week housing and feeding many of these employees.

There are no estimates yet of how many salon and spa employees have been been impacted by Hurricane Katrina. However, major economic centers in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama have been devastated.
